San Marco square is 10-15 minutes walking, so noo need to buy vaporeto tickets. You have everything around you, but still in a very quiet street so no noise during seeping. Rialto-Mercato station is also 3 minutes walking, so is easy to reach with luggages from the bus/train station or airport.
