Stylish Living in a Medieval Cottage

Head out on Angles Way and follow the Waveney river valley for an idyllic countryside stroll or take a trip to the beautiful Suffolk coast, then light the fire and curl up under the beams. Featured in a host of magazines, this bucolic abode combines period features and chic, contemporary design. Ivywood cottage is medieval in age, but contemporary in design, with luxurious finishes and fine detailing. The house is in a unique rural setting and was once part of the Gawdy Hall Estate. The house sits next to a beautiful 15th century church, set within a 3 acre church yard. Glorious and plentiful Waveney Valley walks in all directions. Guests have complete privacy and run of the house, including a private garden. We respect our guest's privacy, and are on call for any advice or assistance that you may need during your visit. The cottage is a short picturesque drive from the coastal gems of Southwold and Aldeburgh. Harleston and Bungay are quintessential English towns with charming independent stores, delis, family butchers, bistro cafes, pubs, restaurants, and tea shops. It's the countryside, most people drive. Diss is the mainline station between London and Norwich and is just 15 minutes by car. Cycling is very popular and the cottage is on a regular time trial route. Buses are very reliable and the village is well serviced making it easy to hop between Suffolk and Norfolk villages. There is fabulous walking from the cottage. Located in the Waveney Valley paths such as Angles Way which follows the Waveney river valley are right on your doorstep.

Self-contained accommodation overlooking the river Waveney with full kitchen, dining and lounge area (including reclining sofa, smart TV and wifi), upstairs is a double bedroom with en-suite. The stairs are very steep (see photo). Allocated parking. Bistro table and chairs outside your door, plus a bench right by the water. Wildlife in abundance - kingfishers and deer etc Peaceful A dark sky for seeing the stars A village pub (serves food) plus a nearby cafe for breakfast/coffee/lunch

Meadowsweet cottage. Romantic countryside retreat.

Meadowsweet Cottage is a traditional timber framed Grade II listed Suffolk cottage. It is one of the oldest dwellings in Metfield and has been sensitively renovated to retain the original character of the building whilst providing comfort and abundant modern conveniences. It is furnished with both antique and contemporary pieces to give the cottage a stylish, yet comfortable feel. The south facing garden is fully dog proof. Two friendly dogs welcome. It has good fast WiFi . Private parking.

The Snug (self contained annex)

Located on the edge of an attractive South Norfolk village, The Snug is a self-contained annex in part of a 17th Century Cottage. The village shop is a short walk away and the centre of Norwich is only a 20 minute drive. This area is popular with cyclists due to the quiet routes and a host of cycle friendly cafes. The accommodation consists of a double bedroom, shower room, dining/working area and kitchenette. There is an off road parking space and bicycle storage if required.

A beautiful beamed cottage with private covered hot tub, fireplace and pizza oven within walking distance of historic pubs and fine food shops. Wine is waiting for you on your arrival. A masseuse and private chef are also both available to book at your cottage too for your stay. Part of the Serenity Cottages collection in Suffolk, it is within the heart of the village within a pretty conservation area.
