This is an incredible place surrounded by nature. The rooms are amazing with some trees and really clean. I loved the open roof shower. Sam is a beautiful person that will make you feel like home and will help you with every doubt that you have about yoga, meditation and about life in general. I will try to come back for sure!!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and my daughters were excited to have their own little house! It was well set up with a restaurant across the road for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and also packed breakfast for the safari if needed. The hosts were very friendly and showed us lots of birds and animals in the lush garden. They also shared badminton nets and cricket bats for our daughters to play and put up big hammocks to relax in. They were able to arrange everything such as the safari tour, a trip to the local Buddhist temple and to see a colony of fruit bats, and a car to our next destination. I’d recommend going for the 6 hour safari as you can go a bit further into the park and not be around as many jeeps. We saw elephants, mongoose, monitor lizards, the giant Sri Lankan squirrel, crocodiles, wallowing buffalo and 20+ kinds of birds. Recommended as a place to stay near the safari park entrance.

We had a fantastic stay at Banyan Camp. Came highly recommended by friends who had stayed recently and it managed to exceed our expectations. One of the most peaceful and relaxing places I've ever visited. The whole camp is really well curated, we loved all the local antiques the owner has collected. All the traditional food was great, super healthy and was really fun to have the reasons why the various dishes are eaten together explained! We had a great time with the other guests around the dinner table too! Our dinner on the first night was floating on a raft in the lake under the stars which was a magical experience. Only regret is we didn't stay longer!

Des plats cuisinés avec attention et qui vous feront découvrir les vraies saveurs sri-lankaises ! Des couchés et levés de soleil incroyables. Et un safari inoubliable ! Réserver le sans hésitations, et ne vous laissez pas influencer par les locaux ou votre driver, car ce lieu est magique ! Je me suis même réconciliée avec les araignées faucheuses et les grenouilles, devant cohabiter lors des passages à la douche et au sanitaire ! First of all Sam is very accomoddating, helpful and a great listener, he tries to help with any questions or problems you may have. The location is peaceful, beautiful nature, right in the jungle, you will wake with the birds and go to sleep with the sounds of the insects. All very genuine, the best place to do meditation, yoga or whatewer you are looking for to disconnect from the busy world. Hope to come back very soon!

There are many different ashrams, each with its own magic! What we loved most was how the hosts kept telling us: “This is your home.” And that’s exactly how we felt, at home in the jungle, truly welcome! The accommodation is simple and close to nature, deep in the jungle. The last two kilometers, you take a tuk-tuk up, arriving at an incredible view, perfect for unwinding. There’s no set schedule, which made our stay even more relaxing. We meditated at sunrise, did yoga, slept a lot, enjoyed amazing food, read, journaled, had great conversations, and simply lay in hammocks, gazing into the jungle. We cuddled with the house cats and dogs, then repeated it all. Yes, there are mosquitoes, it’s the jungle! No toilet paper either, which makes sense here, dear sister Cathy from LA;) If you already miss everything as you’re leaving—the dogs, cats, Sam, and our dear sister, the soul of the kitchen—then you’ve had the perfect ashram experience. I absolutely loved staying in this place. I ended up not wanting to leave Talalla, the family was so very welcoming and helpful. The local people are so nice and the beach is the most beautiful in Sri Lanka so far. The mud hut is totally authentic and super cute. Everything you need in the little kitchen. The beds are so comfortable and with a little reading light that gives off a relaxing light. Amazing Wi-Fi so I could contribute i a full day online meeting! A total hit this place - I can’t believe it isn’t fully booked at all times. Right next to the Talalla Resort that will let you partake in yoga if you do 5class pass. Amazing place truly.

The Banyan lodge is a truly special, unique place. The true gem here is the lake, when you are out paddle boarding for the sunrises or sunsets it is beautiful!

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt, die Aussicht war traumhaft. In der Unterkunft kommt ab und zu Lassie vorbei und schaut nach dem Rechten, man fühlt sich jederzeit sicher und es sind immer die Hausmeister ansprechbar. insgesamt ist es ein tolles Anwesen mit fürsorglichen Gastgebern + Team! Das Dinner und Frühstück sind empfehlenswert und ich durfte sogar mit dem Kayak auf dem See fahren. Ich habe es sehr genossen und kann die Unterkunft allen empfehlen die die Natur lieben. Ein paar Ameisen & Geckos gehören mit dazu, das war aber kein Problem und hat nicht gestört. Danke für diesen malerischen Ort!

Well how do I start this off... we had the greatest ever experience here with a top host named Rukmal. The hospitality provided was out of this world along with the food provided. If you are looking for a safari adventure like we was you are in great hands with Rukmal. He certainly knew his stuff well living in the wildlife for many years he filled us with great knowledge and inspiration. I’d highly recommend hiring out his clay hut for the night and perusing on to the beautiful safari only a few minutes away. We’d like to finish off by saying thank you so much and we’d love to book a camping stay out with you in the near future. Massive big ups to your fine self and let’s keep in touch! The perfect escape to immerse yourself in nature and tune-in to your surroundings. Everything was so thoughtfully crafted so as to blend in with the natural surroundings. Walking through the veg garden to the pool and restaurant area under the stars was beautiful. The pool stretching out over the wild shrubland, the edge of the lagoon just visible. The room was beautiful, I loved how simple yet luxurious it felt. The raw concrete, natural walls and beautiful Thale leaf roof. The ceramic water jug and cups were beautiful and I love that there was a candle provided (loved reading in the evenings by candle-light to the sound of birds!). I can't thank Chandara and Vasantu enough for making my stay so easy and for making me feel right at home. They were so considerate and open to sharing all their knowledge of the area and plants that were growing in the garden. The food was unbelievably good too! Will hopefully be back for more cuddles with Sulu and Suli soon!

Een bijzonder en afgelegen huisje. De tuin en natuur eromheen in combinatie met het kleine zwembad maakte het een fijn verblijf. Het huisje ziet er bijzonder uit en is prachtig ingericht. De host is erg vriendelijk en voor een kleine prijs maakt hij samen met zijn moeder een zeer uitgebreid en lekker Sri Lankaanse ontbijt voor je klaar. Omdat het zo afgelegen ligt zijn er weinig restaurants in de omgeving beschikbaar, maar konden we op advies van de host, eten laten bezorgen bij het verblijf. Wel misten we iets van een grotere tafel om van te kunnen eten en een lekker zitje buiten.
