This house was built by Captain George W. Cook in early 1800s. He was the Captain of a merchant sailing vessel called the Jed F. Duren. a large vessel at 112 tons. Two of Captain George W Cook's original navigation maps are mounted in the house. The home is reminiscent of days of sea and sail. The house is really cool and the waterfront and sunrise views are amazing! This century home meets today's standards of comfort and safety. It is now owned by a Captain Parker - a local lobster fisherman.

Could sleep up to 7 adults and 2 kids with 1 king bed, 2 queens, 1 pullout couch and 2 comfy sofas for smaller kids. Welcome dogs if they have well behaved owners. This older house it's not fancy but cozy and well equipped. Smoking & Vaping are not allowed on any part of the property including driveway.

Listed in the Canadian registry of historical places and designed by the prominent Maxwell Brothers Architects for the Ogilvie wheat baron F.W. Thompson. Part of the carriage house and stables building on the estate, the gardeners cottage was the home to the groomsmen and gardeners. In the shadow of the Algonquin Hotel close to Katy's Cove and walk-able to downtown Saint Andrews by the Sea.
