The Old Schoolhouse on the Shannon Estuary

The Old Schoolhouse is a beautifully renovated house which was originally the local national school built in 1887. All rooms in the house have breath taking views of the Shannon estuary. The house has wooden floors and ceilings throughout and a balcony where guests can sit and have breakfast overlooking the river. The Still Retreat is a private, self-contained apartment attached to our family home, located just 10 minutes from Killarney town in the heart of Muckross. The “retreat” is equipped with a sauna, ice bath, outdoor shower and fire pit overlooking Mangerton Mountain. Perfect for hikers, outdoor enthusiasts or individuals just looking to relax and escape to the countryside. There is no cooker in the pod but there is a Gas Plancha (Hot Plate) and a single gas ring situated in an outside cooking station next to the pod. WIFI
