The views from this gorgeous walk are phenomenal : over to Pauaunui and across to the Alderman Islands and further beyond. It's only a 15min walk away if you're reasonably fit.

Paaku is accessible via walking tracks (fitness level moderate to high), or you can follow the signs up Paku Drive to the car park and walk to the summit. Make sure to take your camera to get magnificent shots of the Pacific Ocean backdrop to the Alderman Islands, Tairuas Ocean Beach, Pauanui Beach, Slipper Island, Shoe Island, and on great days all the way to White Island off Whakatane. Take your water bottle, slap on the sunscreen and wear sensible walking shoes.

One of the best views in the Coromandel Peninsula! Highly recommend a sunset walk to the top. 360 degree views of Tairua, Pauanui, the mountains and up & down the coast. Absolutely beautiful.

A neat walk up hill with beautiful views back towards Pauanui. The ferry ride over is fun as well
