The iconic gondola ride up Sulfur Mountain gives you breathtaking views of Banff and surrounding areas. The tourist center is very educational as well. Take some time to trek your way up the to the summit, while learning about the mountain's storied past.

Scenic cableway ride to viewing decks & hiking trails at the summit of Sulphur Mountain. You can go to Banff simply to do this, or stay for the day and enjoy the whole town :D Allow about 2 hours round trip to hike at the top of the gondola. Bring comfortable shoes, strollers are NOT recommended.

Not everyone can climb a mountain under their own steam! If that is out of the question for you (or it is winter and too cold to contemplate) then this is a great option to see the mountains from the top.

“Take in the views of Mount Rundle while relaxing in the hot springs. Come in the morning for a more relaxing visit with smaller crowds or after a day of skiing.”

“Love this ski hill! It’s further than Sunshine, but parking is right at the ski area (no gondola) ... so you’re probably skiing in the same amount of time.”

Ski Area
“I love this ski hill! Maybe my favourite in the area. It never feels busy on the hill, but the parking lot fills up on the weekend, so head there early or go on a weekday. There is a gondola up to the ski area ... we usually ski out at the end of the day. ”

“Are you a fan of disc golf? Then this is the course you are going to fall in love with! Almost a hike in itself, the scenery is amazing, and the course is challenging. You can hire discs at Trail Sports on-site, or buy them cheap downtown at Sports Experts. Don't forget to rent some bear spray at Trail Sports if you don't already have some - this is well and truly bear country. If you don't want quite such a challenging option, try the disc golf course at Three Sisters. Located on Riva Heights, it is 9 easy holes, and it's wide open. There is still wildlife up there - bears and elk are common, but it is not as risky as the Nordic Centre if you don't have bear spray.”
