The Rocca d’Angera proudly stands on a spur of rock that dominates the southern shores of Lago Maggiore.
This castle stands on a hilltop in the town of Angera, Province of Varese. You can see it from Arona across the lake where another castle formerly stood. It was owned by the Della Torre family before going to the Viscontis and is now owned by the Borromeo family.
beautiful medieval castle with gardens and a breathtaking view of the Lake, mountains and Varese county on the other side of the lake (you can reach it by boat, but walking to the Rocca from the pier is very very hard O_O) it's better to go by car
