Located in the heart of the Protected Landscape of the Vineyard Culture of Pico Island, the building being installed in the built heritage of Lajido de Santa Luzia. It constitutes the starting point for the knowledge of the volcanoes of the Azores and an important tool for the dissemination of the Azorean natural heritage, with emphasis on geodiversity. Framed by Pico Mountain, both the youngest and the largest polygenetic volcano in the Azores, Casa dos Vulcões provides an authentic journey to the center of the Earth in which the visitor discovers the inner energy of the planet through unique sensations, using a simulator seismic and interactive dome. The knowledge is presented in different modules that allow exploring themes ranging from the formation of the Universe to the micro-reliefs present in the Azorean landscapes.
