This is an area famous for its Turkish and Kurdish cuisine with excellent restaurants serving authentic Turkish cuisine. HALA (29 Grand Parade, Harringay N4 1LG) is a favourite - you won't need to order starters here, the portions are excellent as are the complimentary salad, bread and savoury dips. This is not your standard take-away Doner kebab, but high quality Turkish meals, including excellent grilled fish.

One of the best (yet cheap) Turkish restaurants in London. Makes you think twice about kebabs! They also have a cafe next door, serving freshly made baklavas and Turkish coffees.

If you like Turkish food, then this place has the best outside of, well, Turkey! Gokyozu is our favourite, but they are all good! Green Lanes – a 15 minute walk – also has an array of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
