The Visitor Centre at the Kennedy Homestead was opened in June 2013 by Caroline Kennedy and Taoiseach Enda Kenny, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the story of the Kennedy family in a new state of the art exhibition, through a mixture of media. The centre features an interpretative exhibit which traces the story from Patrick Kennedy leaving as a famine emigrant to his great grandchildren’s return as US President (John F Kennedy), US Ambassador (Jean Kennedy Smith), founder of the Special Olympics (Eunice Shriver), Attorney General (Bobby Kennedy) and US Senator (Ted Kennedy).

President Kennedy's great-grandfather was born here. He emigrated to the US in 1848. JFK visited Dunganstown, just south of New Ross, in June 1963, 5 months before his assassination. It's now a visitor and interpretative centre. It's a day trip from Delgany (a 1 hour 40 minute drive).
