It's a canoe launch area with only a gravel parking lot and no bathrooms. It's a beautiful rocky river for rock jumping and rough hiking trails.

The Haw River Trail runs through Saxapahaw. It's part of the NC Mountains-to-Sea Trail. You can launch your kayak here. Haw River Canoe & Kayak Co. will take you boating on the river as well. And they can advise you on fishing spots.
