Tintern Abbey, founded for the Cistercian order in 1131 by Walter de Clare, Lord of Chepstow is a spectacular ruin managed by Cadw. It is located on the Welsh side of the Wye, the border between England and Wales at that point.
Fabulous in all weathers and all seasons. we like it best early in the morning when it rises from the river mist.
