Bowens Mills is located just south of nearby Middleville , MI, The 19-acre historical site is home to a variety of interesting old buildings, including the mills and the old, fully out-fitted one-room schoolhouse. You can sit in the students' desks, ring the teacher's bell, look at the old wood stove, and write on the chalkboard -- while imagining what it was like to attend school 100 years ago. Every October, the site hosts Cider Sundays, a celebration of the fall harvest. You can see the 17-foot water wheel, used for grinding corn, flour, and pressing apples for cider. Horse drawn wagon rides are included with admission. There are a variety of farm animals living at Bowens Mills. Reinactments are periodically available, such as soap making, blacksmithing, saw weaving.

This 19 acre park offers a one room school house, an old Victorian home, a grist mill (that still grinds cornmeal you can purchase), and a cider mill. In the fall they do horse drawn wagon rides, and serve apple dumplings with their home-made cider.
