A national treasure: one of the few traditional smoke houses working in Britain. A Whitby kipper is a must eat experience. Just a few doors up from the cottage.

Oak smoked kippers have been smoked here since 1872. They are absolutely delicious and can be packed to take home. The smoked salmon and smoked kipper pate is so tasty too.

Famous old smoke house where you can buy kippers, salmon, bacon all smoked on site. The best smoked salmon you will ever find and so much cheaper than supermarkets.

The oak smoked kippers made by Fortunes in their tiny smokehouse at the back of their shop on Henrietta Street are one of the great attractions of Whitby.
