Piccolo's Cafe

This popular spot is run by two Egyptian brothers, and their heritage pops up on the rustic menu in the tastiest of ways. The portions aren’t enormous, but the food is wholesome, spicy, and unique. The Cairo Eggs is my favourite dish: It looks like a breakfast pizza, topped with runny-yolk eggs infused with cumin and brown butter, lamb merguez sausage, and labneh sauce. They have an indoor-outdoor section and a courtyard out the back, but take any table you can get on weekends—there’s always a queue.
