The great lexicographer lived here in the 1750s, entertaining Ben Franklin and all the luminaries of the day. Adults £4.50.

This doesn't take long to look round, but it is a charming survival in a courtyard off Fleet Street typical of early 18th c. London. Dr Johnson penned his famous English dictionary here.
