Around the headland is excellent for spotting rare migrating birds especially from late July into September.

Pendeen Watch & Portheras Cove 2.8 miles (4.5 km) A short descent to Portheras Cove and a gentle climb out of it; on footpaths through farmland and quiet lanes. Full walk details can be found on: southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/709/

You must promise not to tell anyone else about this gem of a place - lets keep it our secret. It is a perfect place for a picnic, read a book, painting or just taking some time out. One of my hobbies is painting and this is one of my favourite places to paint. The colours of the sea on a bright day are stunning and the waves are spectacular on a stormy day. A couple of times I have been there, there has been a seal bobbing about in the cove - just wonderful. There is a small free car park but nothing else, so bring everything you will need with you. By the way, I have no idea what the picture of the bedroom as all about! I just go there for the views
