The people of this small village were evacuated by the army in the mid 1960s, when the nearby military area of Monte Ciaurlec was one of the most used of the time in Italy for shooting training. Now, after decades that people left Praforte, the only residents are chickens, a few goats, some sheep, and a couple of donkeys, owned by one of the old villagers. In the hope that a restoration action can take place as soon as possible, for the moment it's truly charming to take a walk among the old abandoned houses, looking for rural architectural details.
