Hidden away in a courtyard behind the main road, is a glorious hall decorated with golden stucco, and large, gilt-edged mirrors, which was built in the 19th century - for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Rix is an institution among locals. It's the perfect place to either start or finish your day (or night) in Neukölln. It boasts a nice large tearoom and attracts a mixed crowd. Café Rix lies like a hidden gem in a backyard off the Karl-Marx-Straße, and it's easy to miss. But don't! It's one of the nicest places in the area: the interior has an old-fashioned flavor, and it's impressive, with big mirrors in the hall that used to be a ballroom.
