Fresh fish from Smokie. Interesting range of very fresh fish, though doesn't exactly comply with EU regulations! But, fantastic fresh tuna, dolphin fish (mahi-mahi) snapper, swordfish, flying fish, grouper, kingfish, marlin, etc.

The Mille Ifill Fish Market Just over the road from Carita Beach View you will find the Fresh Fish Market. It was renamed Mille Ifill Fish Market in honour of Millicent Ifill who for over 70 years sold fish to local residents from a tray on her head. In 2011 the 96 year old Mille was present as the Market was renamed in her honour. Fish here is fresh from the town local fishermen who land an exotic mixture of local fish including: Mainly found in the Caribbean and all good eating! Flying Fish ( Exocoetidae) streamlined torpedo shape helps flying them generate enough speed to break the water’s surface, and large, wing-like pectoral fins help get them airborne. They have been filmed airborne for 40 seconds. Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) Don't worry, these are fish, not Flipper, the bottlenose dolphin and air-breathing mammal. Mahi mahi is the Hawaiian name for the species Coryphaena hippurus, also known in Spanish as the Dorado or the dolphin fish in English. Along with fresh tuna, snapper, swordfish, grouper, kingfish and marlin.
