Slovene alpine region - Kranjska Gora is an attractive mountain and tourist sports centre throughout the year.

Nice alpine resort, you can ski there in the winter and hike in the summer. It is worth spending some time around Jasna lake as well. You can swim there but it is only for corrageous as it has 15-18 degrees. It is 2h drive from Izola.
