Beautiful hike to a very interesting geographical wonder in Oregon. About 45 min away and into the Ochoco Mountain Range. It is said that the pillar was used by Native American's to speak with the sun god.

Just a 50 minute drive East of Bend you pass through the old cowboy town of Prineville. You can view Steins pillar from an overlook by car or drive to the trailhead and take the relatively easy hike right to the base. Pack a lunch, take water.
