approximately 20miles from the pod is the village of Callander. With little shops and visitor centre and places to eat and drink it makes a nice spot for a wander. If you fancy a dining spot for an occasion I would suggest the Roman camp. With its distinctive pink exterior and cosy library for drinks its the perfect place for some lovely food. there are also lovely grounds to have a walk down to the river. always best to call and book.

About an hour's drive, Callander is a bustling holiday town known as the gateway to the Highlands. The A84 North from Callander to Glen Coe (another 1.5 hours each way) is a beautiful drive, and Glen Coe is probably one of the most beautiful areas in Scotland. Callander itself is at the junction of two rivers in an area of outstanding natural beauty known as the Trossachs.

Callander is often described as the gateway to the Highlands. Beautiful town, lots of Scottish shops, if you want some tartan, shortbread or whisky this is the place to go! Not far from Loch Lomond and also the beautiful Trossachs national park. Some of Scotland's most beautiful scenes can be found here with dramatic mountains, wooded glens and lochs to be found around every turn.
