Climb up one of Lisbon’s iconic buildings for a unique view of the city. Open to the public since 9 August 2013, the Arch leaves Lisbon at your feet, literally. This triumphal arch in Rua Augusta has always impressed those roaming Lisbon’s busiest pedestrianised street.
It impresses those who pass in the busy Rua Augusta, in Lisbon's downtown. It is possible to climb to the top of this triumphal arch that celebrates the past grandeur of the Portuguese Empire. An exhibition tells the history of the monument, since it bgan to be hought of after he earhquake of 1755…
The top of the triumphal arch only opened for visits in 2013, but is already one of the city’s must-see attractions. On one side there’s a magnificent view over Comércio Square, and on the other, over Rua Augusta and all of downtown.
