During winter, Piano Provenzana is a ski area. From there, all year long, you can take a guided tour to the top of the Etna. On your way up, you will pass through the Pineta Ragabo, a nice forest with tall tree pines, where you can walk around and make a picnic.

You can reach the summit areas of the volcano (3300 meters) with the cable car (open from 9.00 am to 16.00 pm on the Rifugio Sapienza), located at 31,2 km from the villa on Etna South side. You will need to wear closed shoes and possibly an anorak.
