The Almeida Theatre, opened in 1980, is a 325-seat studio theatre with an international reputation, which takes its name from the street on which it is located, off Upper Street, in the London Borough of Islington.
a 15 minute walk from the flat. has high quality theatre, one of the best "off west end" theatres! they also have cheap tickets so you can grab a bargain. and so many restaurants on Upper Street to get a pre theatre dinner or post play drink!
Just off upper street, they had a run with lots of their productions moving to the west end. Just around the corner. 7min to walk

It's a small theatre and yes you've got good views even from the cheap seats but they are restricted if there are two levels used on stage. You might need to duck...

“It's a much-loved institution... one of only three puppet theatres in the country, the Little Angel Theatre doesn’t just put on puppet shows, it makes the figures in the attached workshop too. Dame Judi Dench, Clive Owen, Sir Simon Rattle and Michael Rosen are just some of the theatre's trustees. Established in 1961, the theatre features its own productions and travelling companies from abroad, developing and keeping puppetry alive and children amazed. ”

“The Screen on the Green in Islington is one of the country’s oldest cinemas: it opened in 1913 and has been a single-screen cinema ever since. It was bought by the Everyman chain of luxury cinemas in 2008 and soon after was renamed Everyman Screen on the Green. It offers a mix of standard and premier seats (the latter being ‘luxurious sofas with footrests’), and there’s a bar at the back of the screen.”
