Step back in time to a WW2 Bomber Command airfield and experience some of the greatest planes in history. The Centre is a living and breathing history experience with the sights and sounds of a wartime airfield and a running Lancaster and Mosquito. The Centre offers the opportunity for an immersive experience as well as a time for quiet contemplation.

(19 miles from Miles) A family run museum based on the old wartime airfield of RAF East Kirkby and retaining its original 1940’s Control Tower. It is a living memorial to the men of Bomber Command and holds many events from re-enactments to flying displays and dogfights.

A Second World War aviation museum built on a disused airbase, complete with both real planes and astonishing replicas. 18 minute drive

For those who love all things aviation. A great family day out.

Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre Fans of military aviation shouldn’t miss this museum at East Kirkby, a brief drive north of Boston. The centre markets itself as being the only place in the UK where you can ride in an Avro Lancaster bomber. Other exhibits are a Percival Proctor radio trainer and a Handley Page Hampden bomber, both being restored, as well as the cockpit of an English Electric Canberra and the wreckage of a Spitfire that crashed in 1943.
