There are always things going on up there. In summer there are kid's theater programs taught by Shauna Kanter of Voice Theater. It's part of the old Byrdcliffe Colony so also really worth driving up there and spotting old "Woodstocky" houses.
The Byrdcliffe Colony, also called the Byrdliffe Arts Colony or Byrdcliffe Historic District, was founded in 1902 near Woodstock, New York by Jane Byrd McCall and Ralph Radcliffe Whitehead and colleagues, Bolton Brown and Hervey White. It is the oldest operating Arts and Crafts Colony in America.
You'll pass this facility on your way to the Byrdcliffe Retreat. Open artist studios, a self guided walking tour and functions at the Theatre throughout the summer.
