Great for families. Splash pad, slides, swings full play-ground / play-scape, many picnic areas, fenced skate park, tennis court, baseball fields, volley ball courts, shuffleboard area, horse-shoe area, Vietnam Memorial, walking trails begin here and connect multiple parks in the city, pet friendly. Chippewa River runs around the entire park - "Island Park" 2 pavilions for shaded meals or events.

Live music on Thursday nights during the summer. Lighted tennis courts. Scenic walking trails. Splash park for the little ones.

Island Park has a Pavillion for the Farmer's Market on Thursdays, a splash pad for children, a veterans memorial, and a paved walking trail and bridge that connects to Nelson Park. The river is lovely in all seasons.
