New Orleans has lots of snowball stands, but this one is a legend. In operation by the Hansens for decades (don't know if mom and pop are still alive) , it's a place even locals will stand in line to get a snowball.

Legendary snowball shop. Homemade syrups. Unique ice-shaving equipment (invented by the original owner) creates an amazing light cool summer treat. My favorite is the "filled" snowball (ice cream center) with nectar syrup topped with sweetened condensed milk. Heaven. Open Spring thru Fall.
