Partially covered Hawaiian bird park within the Volcano Nation Park. If you listen closely and or even take a good pair of binoculars you maybe able to spot some of our native Hawaiian honey creeper birds.

This is a pleasant trail in a place locally called "bird park". Its a loop that goes uphill a bit. Its close to the "tree molds", which are large holes in the ground formed by lava flowing around big trees, cooling around them, with the trees burning out at a later time. There is also Mauna Loa Strip Road, which winds for 10 miles up the slopes of Mauna Loa to a lookout. I would call this area a second-tier set of sights.

Lots of endemic local birds in their own habitat, just beautiful, peaceful and quiet.

A native forest, see the stickiest plant on earth, mamane, baby koa trees, and if you are lucky some native birds.
