E' una delle piazze piu' conosciute ed importanti della città. Situata nel centro storico, costituisce l'inizio di via Toledo e mediante l'accesso alla Porta denominata "Port' Alba" sul lato nord della piazza, si raggiunge il Decumano Superiore. Et l'un des plus célèbres et importants places de la ville. Situé dans le centre historique, il est le début de la Via Toledo et en accédant pour "Port 'Alba" sur le côté nord de la place, vous atteignez le Decumano Superiore

On the left-side of this Piazza, you'll see an arch. Pass the arch and on that street, you'll find many bookstores selling old and new books in italian or travel books for tourist.

ITINERARIO VIA TRIBUNALI - DECUMANO MAGGIORE [11] - PIAZZA DANTE E PORT'ALBA. Piazza Dante, the ancient Largo Mercatello, was redesigned by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli. Here it is possible to admire a large monument to Dante and the "Foro Carolino", a semicircular colonnade, built to pay tribute to King Charles III. The colonnade is now the entrance of the “Convitto nazionale Vittorio Emanuele”. The square is connected to the Decumano through Port'Alba, which was built in 1625 by Don Antonio Alvarez de Toledo, Duke of Alba. Port'Alba is now known for its numerous libraries.
