For those who want to venture outside of Acadia, this beautiful area consists of 11 miles of hiking trails that take you along the coast of downeast Maine. Located in Cutler, about an hour and 40 minute drive away.

This is a great hike. Its a bit of a drive (about an hour), but a lovely experience. Stop for Helen's pie in Machias on the way.

Amazing hiking trail that rivals anything found in Acadia. Possibly the most scenic trail along the east coast. Takes about 6 hours but you can take an abbreviated hike also. About half the hike is through the forest and half along the rugged shoreline with crashing surf.
