Aside form the Air Force Academy, The Olympic Training Center - Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs are a must see.

This is one of my favorite liquor stores. you go south on protect, turn right onto pikes peak. turn left into the back parking lot just before pike's peak (now colorado) gets to wahsatch avenue.
