Villa Akasa beautifully reflects the thoughtfulness and hard work put in by Shama Aunty, Sidharth, Nakul, Raju and the entire staff in creating this perfect nook for beach lovers and homebodies like me. Loved the airy, well-lit room; spacious sit-out; elegant ponds lining the periphery of the rooms; the food (5-stars!) AND the fact that the lovely Papanasam beach is a mere 5 min walk away. The doggos have my heart! Sophie especially! Already planning another trip soon :) Wishing many many years of happy hosting to Villa Akasa folks!

This place truly feels like paradise! It carries an incredible sense of serenity and beauty. The staff and the owner are exceptionally kind and always available to help, making you feel completely safe and cared for. The yoga classes are deeply moving, and the surrounding nature allows for a profound connection. If you're looking to experience the authentic, non-touristic side of India, this is the perfect place to stay. Nestled right by the backwaters, you can enjoy a refreshing swim, and just a minute’s walk across the road brings you to the sea. We had an amazing stay in this beautiful oasis of peace and tranquility! Sharma had created such a special place here, and the staff, service and home cooked food were all exceptional. We extended our stay here and were so glad we did. The beauty of nature, smiling faces, delicious Indian breakfasts and dinners all combined to soothe and refresh our bodies and souls after weeks on the road. The location is excellent- very close to a beautiful beach and across the road from a good cafe and Ayurveda clinic where we got some great massages. Sid and Pramod were a great help- very chilled, friendly, great communicators and very helpful. Couldn’t recommend this stay highly enough!

This place actually exceeded our expectations, it was flanked by a pristine lake and beach on the other side. The room however was the highlight of the place, my friends wanted to know where this place was after looking at my status. Its a wooden clad cottage with a rustic feel to it , ,the bathroom was sectional and was something that i’ve never seen before, amazing. If hot water was provided it would have been great.

Shama's place is on the South Cliff... away from the North cliff, which is really what we were looking for... some peace and quiet and to focus on beach time. The beach was a good 7-10 min walk with the 4 year old and we got back home by climbing the cliff steps at Tripp is Life. Soul and Surf was a breezy 15-20 min walk away for us. The room was spacious, cool, tastefully done, had an attached bathroom with an open to sky bath area which was stunning. The sit-out was where we ate our very wholesome breakfasts and hung out when we got back from our beach days. The garden facing room gave us privacy that we needed. Varkala was spectacular and what made it so special was our stay. The staff was attentive and helpful. We'd look forward to coming back to stay at Shama's place when we return to Varkala.

Amazing stay at Shama's! Communication was great, the on property staff was incredibly helpful and got up in the middle of the night to let us in. The room is cozy and the bed super comfortable. The breakdasts were delicious and a highlight of our stay. The property overall is very beautiful and located close to the cliffs and a short rickshaw ride away from the main part of town. I would definintely stay here again when coming back. Thank you Shama and team for making us feel as home.

We had the most wonderful stay at Villa Akasa! I really cannot praise the team enough, Sid was very helpful and responsive, the breakfasts were superb (they send you a message the day before for you to choose from different options), and the service was always extremely friendly and nice. The room itself was very spacious (nice tall ceilings!), nicely decorated, and the bathroom was beautiful. The water had good pressure and it was warm. The wi-fi worked well from our bedroom (we booked "Soma"), especially from the little terrace at the front. The terrace is facing the path, so you will probably be greeted by other guests passing by while having breakfast, but we really didn't mind that.

We spent three nights at Anita’s and felt right at home from the moment we arrived. We were shown to our room, which was a non-AC accommodation. However, its location ensured that it never became too hot. Anita’s is just a two-minute walk from the coastal area of Varkala and about a 10- to 15-minute walk to the town centre. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, as well as numerous yoga classes suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to those with more experience. Breakfast is available, and laundry services can be arranged for a fee.

We stayed at Mad About Coco for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The accommodation was as described and very clean. The surroundings were very attractive and it was quiet despite being very convenient for the beach and Varkala Cliff shops and restaurants. All the staff were really helpful and Anita went beyond what would normally be expected to help resolve a refund issue we had with another hotel that was not her responsibility. Nothing bad to say, highly recommended.

Mad about Coco hat eine tolle, zentrale Lage, an ist in wenigen Minuten am Strand und im Frühstückscafe. Das Frühstück mit Blick aufs Meer ist supergut! Die Räume sind wirklich sehr schlicht eingerichtet, aber die Gastgeber sind immer freundlich und da, wann immer man etwas braucht. Wenn man ein ruhiges Zimmer will, sollte man das vorher anmerken.

I arrived Varkala by train late afternoon . With Kori information I took a Tuk Tuk in front of train station easily within 10mins arriving at her house without any difficulties. Telling Tuk Tuk driver just the name “Tattwamasi “ is the destination Abhi is there ready to check me in within a short time I was already calm on the comfortable bed. Staying with the couple made me feel safe and convenient to stroll around and enjoyVarkal in a simple way. Plus a yoga class in the morning taught by Abhi is relaxing and a good day start. The breakfast is good , staff is kind . I highly recommend this hidden gem of Varkala.

Das Anwesen ist echt super, viele grüne Pflanzen in einem schönen Hof. Wir haben den Aufenthalt wirklich genossen! Man ist in etwa 10 Gehminuten am Strand und in der Umgebung gibt es viele Restaurants und Cafés. Lediglich der Tempel in der Nähe hat die Ruhe etwas gestört, da hier jeden Morgen um 05:30 über Lautsprecheranlagen Gebete verkündet wurden, aber dafür können die Gastgeber nichts deshalb gibt es keinen Abzug in der Bewertung. Hervorheben möchte ich noch das leckere, abwechslungsreiche Frühstück, das war echt klasse und das kostenlose Yoga, das jeden Morgen angeboten wird. Beste Grüße

Ai offered a very comfortable, clean and cozy stay. Located in a calm neighbourhood yet ideally close to local attractions. Aparna was quick to respond to queries, made some of the choicest recommendations for food and activities and was also able to support in arranging 2-wheeler rentals during the stay. Overall had a pleasant experience with Aparna and Ai.
