Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Our self contained apartment offers unique semi rural accommodation with amazing mountain views suited for tourists & travelers to enjoy all our region offers. Relax in the living area with comfortable lounging, dining table with full kitchen incl. dishwasher. Indulge yourself in a luxury queen size bed. A second bedroom offers a king single. A sofa bed is available if needed. A continental breakfast is provided. Cooked breakfast available weekends $15 per person. Laundry $10 wash & dry

The Hideaway - a cosy calm oasis

A cosy, calm oasis set in a spacious garden of fruit trees. This sun filled pad is the perfect base to relax in, or from which to explore Whanganui. The Hideaway is part of the owner’s art studio complex with its own deck. Guests will be greeted by med sized dog! Only 5km from town, facilities include dbl bed, smart TV, fridge, m-wave, toaster, hotplate, washing machine, clothes rack. Tea, coffee, herbal teas and light breakfast provided. Off street parking in drive. Some pets ok if arranged.

The Braeburn

Whanganui Awa became the first waterway in the world to get legal personhood, in 2017. Staying next to her in "The Braeburn" is a rare opportunity to come inside this often admired building. On the second floor in the main wing with a huge exclusive NON SMOKING balcony, is your truly blissful escape. Come watch the sunsets, and pour yourself a drink. Slow down, relax and enjoy. The apartment has a kitchenette, queen bed with a quality new mattress and linen, TV and clawfoot bath. No shower.

Luxury Penthouse in the City

This large brand new Penthouse apartment is stylishly presented with all the latest features and appliances you'd expect to see in an up market New York apartment. One King and one Queen size beds each with their own bathroom. Luxury bathrooms with underfloor heating, spacious scullery / laundry, stand alone Oven, double door Fridge freezer and dishdraws. Some supplies like Nespresso, milk, yoghurt, bread etc just to help you settle. Secure off street parking for 2 vehicles is also provided.

Sunset Beach House

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space, with amazing views of the sunset. Fully renovated in 2020 Cook a delicious meal in the well equipped kitchen, then dine on your choice of decks to soak up the rural or sea views. Just a 7 minute walk to the popular Castlecliff beach for a swim or take a stroll along the black sandy beach, call into the Citadel for a meal or drink on the way home. Ohakune is an hours drive to enjoy the great walks or skiing. 4 square and laundromat close by

Cosy guest sleep out with sauna on dairy farm

* No cleaning fees :) * Relax and unwind on our small peaceful farm guest sleep out. One bedroom one bathroom sleep out with kitchenette. One king size bed and a pull out sofa bed. Would suggest this for children only for the limited room. Can provide a travel cot for infants if organised in advance. 10 mins drive away from Kai Iwi beach and a 20-25mins drive to Whanganui. We are situated on the main highway but far enough to not hear traffic. Great location for kids to run around.

The Crib

Comfortable, semi-rural, within 4 minutes of town. Situated on a 3 acre block, this Airbnb is completely separate and offers privacy and convenience. It comes with a well equipped kitchen and breakfast is included. There is a smart Tv and Wifi. There is a locked garage available for storage of items such as bikes or small water craft. There is heaps of parking for trailers etc. Wake up and listen to the bird song - we hope you will love this place as much as we do!

The Red Barn - Rural but close to town.

The Red Barn provides a rural retreat, a quick 7-minute drive to vibrant Whanganui city. Local café and brewery down the road and close to the Windermere Berry Farm. A self-contained cottage set privately in the grounds of our property offering options for whatever break away you are looking for. Sit and relax outside in the sun, or stoke up the fire and chill out, or grab your bike and explore the country roads. Dedicated EV charger, type 2. Secure storage for bikes.
