Richcrest Cabin is built for two people. Off the grid and eco-friendly. Set beside a small lake and totally private. Enjoy the company of New Zealand's beautiful birds, Tui, Fantail and an abundance of Kereru. The cabin provides a stunning peaceful private retreat to escape from the trappings of modern life. Double glazed, fully insulated, and an infinity gas heater for warmth. Situated on a traditional New Zealand sheep and beef hill country farm. Marked farm walks for you to enjoy.

"The End of the Road"

The bach is well equipped, but GUESTS MUST SUPPLY OWN LINEN (top and bottom sheets, pillow slips & towels), and CLEAN it before leaving. It is a fisherman's bach at the end of a quiet street. Lake Taupo is a 10 minute walk and the Tauranga Taupo River nearby. We have plenty of duvets and blankets. NO WIFI. If you are unable to clean the house before you leave or supply your own linen it's better if you find a motel or hotel in town. We keep the price lower by not having a cleaning fee.

Built in 2023 the Boomerang Boulder Bach above the shores of Lake Taupo, at Whareroa, is styled in the architectural era of the 1950s. Wood-paneling throughout, stone interior wall, Scandinavian-styled furniture, and bespoke kitchen. A wrap-around deck shows off Lake Taupo, and the imposing Whareroa Cliffs with an enticing bath tub nestled at the base. The village has very few permanent residents and so the peace and quiet is almost deafening; birdsong or boats is often all you will hear.

Enjoy this peaceful and cosy well-located space, with access to the beautiful Virginia Lake , quaint guest residence with queen bed & ensuite. Tea and coffee station , with microwave / toaster and mini fridge, heat pump provides instant heat, Smart TV’s x2. Our cosy guest house is located next to the main dwelling by, linked by beautiful decking. We have sectioned a part of the deck off for our guests to enjoy while they are here. The guesthouse is situated well back from the road.

Great location for accessing Lake Taupo (5 minutes) walk including great marina and cafe. Turangi (10 minutes drive), World famous trout fishing in the Tongariro River. Ski fields, tramping and Tongariro Crossing are only 45 minutes away. Taupo is just over half an hour away to the North. Accommodation is situated at the end of a quiet cul de sac.
