This cosy and spacious house is in the heart of the picturesque village of Belcarra in Co. Mayo. Nestled in the side of the drumlin that shelters the village it is a 3 min walk to the local shop, butcher, pub, church, school, playground, football pitch, & sports centre. Kick back and relax in this calm, cosy space in the rolling countryside and just a 40 minute drive from Knock Airport. For something more lively there’s Westport and Castlebar, with their shops, bars and the beautiful coastline and beaches of the Wild Atlantic Way. The 2 friendly cats, Muffin and Bruce, prefer to live outside but like to say hello. When not away working, I stay in a chalet on a separate piece of land close by but not overlooking the cottage. I do respect guest privacy.

In the year 0f 1898, this lovely cottage was built to be the Teachers residence to the local School. Throughout the years it has been a very happy home to all who lived here. It is set in large gardens . Perfectly peaceful, with access to quiet walks. Sitting out listening to the resident owl, or the early morning bird song, magic. We are a few miles from the beautiful Lough Carra, and within a half hour of Cong, Lough Mask , Lough Corrib, the gateway to Connemara. Come enjoy the peace.
