Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding
Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

A stones throw from cycle 72 route - yet within easy access of the historic City of Carlisle and a little further afield - the Lake District & 10 mins from the m6 motorway. Unspoilt countryside, wildlife and access to a variety of activities make Horseshoe Cottage an ideal one night stopover on route to Scotland 🏴 or England 🏴 or longer to explore or relax

Herdy Lodge is a contemporary take on a country cottage (Insta =HerdyLodge) It is within our family smallholding on the Northern slopes of the Eden Valley where we farm our happy flock of herdwick sheep. It has a modern, crisp interior and good ecological credentials inc a wood pellet boiler and "passive" building design. It has a private drive and garden with a terrace looking directly onto the lakeland fells. Plenty to do nearby: Takin Tarn, Hadrian's Wall, Lakes and Dales, Rhegged Centre.

Stylish, cosy shepherds hut in unspoiled location
Beautiful handcrafted and fully lined with wood burner and oil fired heater. stylish, romantic and well equipped space with it's own en suite. Comfy bed bedding and towels provided. Sitting in the most stunning totally unspoiled and hidden countryside on a 3 acre sight with a small lake and boat ( think Swallows and Amazons in miniature ). 2 very cheeky resident red deer nearby prove popular with all guests. Eden valley and Hadrian’s Wall on the door step, North Lakes 40 drive. Great pubs!.

A beautifully appointed two bedroom cottage, situated in the heart of popular and desirable Scotby village. Children and dogs welcome. The accommodation comprises entrance hall leading to the living room with original fireplace and electric fire, modern kitchen with integrated oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave. To the first floor there is a feature stone wall leading to the bathroom and bedrooms. Sleeps up to five persons in two bedrooms (one king sized bed and one triple bunk bed).
