Horton farm cottage located on 40 acres.

Located a few hundred feet from the Iris gardens at Horton farm, a six acre garden space with over 1400 Iris varieties. Bloom season is April and May. The cottage was built in 1945 on my family's heritage farm. She's located next to the old barn alongside a small Creek. Inside you'll find a fresh colorful landscape of hand made cabinets, concrete countertops and furniture. The heated and Polished concrete floor is ready for farm life. You'll be delighted in the vintage items and local artwork.

This guest suite is completely separate from the main house, with a full-size living room, bedroom, and bathroom. A full size desk with desk chair offer a great work space. A small table with chairs offers a quiet spot to enjoy a meal. A small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker (fresh-ground coffee, cream, & sugar) are in-suite. Before we built on this property we gave special homage to the Native peoples, and asked for blessings from the spirits to live here. We have discovered grinding rocks, shards of Chinese pottery, and ancient fire pits on the land.

Whether you're interested in CA history, white water rafting, lazy lake days, skiing in Tahoe, farm to fork, or fine dining, then our Little Red Barn is a perfect jumping off location. Our barn features a completely remodeled guest suite located on the second floor. The suite has a private entrance and deck overlooking our but growing mini farm.
