Big Blue the Bus, Unique Getaway in the Mountains

Big Blue the Bus is all decked out and ready to host your next romantic glamping getaway in The Great Smoky Mountains! This gorgeous, mid-sized "skoolie" is permanently parked on our 5.5 acre property on English Mountain, surrounded by trees and wildlife, and just steps away from a seasonal bubbling stream with small waterfalls. It has everything you could possibly want for a couple's getaway, surrounded by Mother Nature, with all the conveniences you need plus the rustic air of camping in grand style. This property is heavily forested. Parking is in a gravel parking lot about 30 yards from the bus. A wheeled luggage cart is available to help you bring your things to the bus up the lighted path. The bus roof has been raised 18", so the interior height is comfortable for anyone up to 6'5" or so. Queen sized bed, shower, toilet, dining area, couch, full kitchen. You are welcome to walk the entire 5.5 acre property. It would probably be helpful to you to get a quick tour of the bus and what's available to you and how to work certain things, but if you prefer your privacy, there's a binder in the bus with all of the information. Please let me know via message if you'd like me to give you the tour! This property is off a private gravel road shared by 3 neighbors. Everyone keeps to themselves and enjoys the peaceful ambiance of English Mountain. The road is not paved but can be used by any type of car without any problems. The gravel is groomed regularly.

Our retreat offers an opportunity for guest to enjoy wildlife in their natural habitat. We are home to a variety of animals, including deer, foxes, rabbits, frogs, raccoons, turkey, ducks, squirrels, and many species of birds, including bald eagles. You may even catch a glimpse of a bear, bobcat or peacock.

This cute 1972 Shasta Loflyte named “The Flower Child “, will give you that groovy, laid back feeling of yesteryear. This trailer has one full bed and the dinette also makes a twin bed. There is a mini fridge and a/c. There is no bathroom in the camper but a beautiful new bathhouse is just a few steps away. Your own fire pit area and a grill are also provided. Shared use of pedal boat, canoe and kayaks. * please note * after Labor Day lake levels drop* no water access after Labor Day.

We have a small camper that sits facing one of the best views of the Smokies. When you get off I-40 at the 407 Exit you are about five miles from our house and camper. When you pull on the level driveway and park next to your camper you will think to yourselves OMGosh! this view is stunning (weather permitting). Once you settle in you might take a quick hot shower, or cook a small meal and sit to eat at the dinette. When its bed time a full size mattress awaits you. Great place for hikers!
