Andrew and Ann welcome you to our beautiful Victorian age Bed and Breakfast, in the centre of Ambleside, The Lake District. We are situated in the centre of Ambleside, but off the main road. There are many fantastic restaurants and bars right on our doorstep as well as lots of the Lake Districts most scenic hiking trails. Our home is in the hamlet where Arthur Ransome, author of 'Swallows & Amazons' spent his childhood holidays. Today it still retains that old-world charm. We are a stone's throw from the lake, with woodlands & waterfalls on our doorstep. You can sit by a cosy fire or enjoy a walk/picnic by the lake on light evenings. Double room above the market town of Penrith.

We have one private room which can sleep up to 2 people. This can be set up as either double or twin room, please request your preference on booking. There is WiFi in the room The kitchen and bathroom are shared. We also have laundry facilities. Pets welcome. Parking is available. Penrith is the ‘heart of the Lake District’ and a good place to start discovering this wonderful area. We are only minutes from M6 junction 40. We welcome cyclists and walkers. There is a secure hallway for cycles.

We are located on the 3 Peaks route and close to the Pennine Way/Dales way. The property is surrounded by the finest walking and mountain bike trails in England. Beautiful barn conversion which is ideally situated for walkers and 3 Peaks Challenge adventurers! It offers 3 bedrooms in the main house and is within walking distance of 2 local pubs and train station and has its own private car park for guests. Also 2 dog friendly micro lodges/pods are available which are located in the walled garden area next to the main house, both with private terrace. Pods are en-suite and equipped with TV, fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee/tea making facilities.

Set on the Dales Way, in the heart of the Lake District National Park lies Cragg House Farm. This working family farm now doubles up as a luxurious 2 room B&B. Run by Liz, alongside my husband Edward who manages the farm. Cragg House over looks acres of land occupied by livestock and panoramic views of the fells. The tranquil farm is only two miles outside of Bowness-on-Windermere. There are great local pubs and eateries and walks. There is even a golf course less than half a mile away.
