Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

Welcome to Aquila Cottage which is directly on the Hadrians Wall Path, Pennine Way and Cycleway Route 72. The cottage is in an unparallelled location just 150 yards from "the best bit" of Hadrians Wall at Walltown Crags and directly opposite the Roman Army Museum. There is a bus stop right (services include AD122) outside. We are perfectly located for walking, visiting the sites along Hadrians Wall, stargazing events at Walltown & Twice Brewed as well as visiting the lakes & Scottish Borders

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. A place to relax and enjoy fantastic scenery and wildlife. Recently modernised, but retaining great charm, the perfect get away from it all retreat. Double and twin bedrooms. Oil fired central heating and electric range style cooker for cosy days in Guests are welcome to enjoy the back garden (Shared with number 3). Stonecrop is a much loved cottage and enjoys a tranquil setting with a large, attractive garden, situated in a stunning part of Northumberland. Guests are welcome to wander through our adjoining field to reach the banks of the river South Tyne. It was built in 1760 and has retained its original character whilst benefiting from all mod cons. Many guests return year after year and dogs are welcome too. Stonecrop is within easy reach of Hadrian’s Wall, the Yorkshire Dales, the Borders and Lakes.

All just minutes from Hadrian's Wall. Explore wonderful Northumberland, the Lake District to the West is an easy drive as is the Pennines to the South and Scotland to the North.

Dyke Cottage, adjacent to a working farm, enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and is perfectly situated to explore the striking Lake District, Hadrian's Wall, the beautiful Eden Valley, the Scottish Borders and unspoilt Cumbria and Northumbria. The Pennine Way literally skirts the garden walls, making it the perfect place to get away from it all. The Cottage also includes 2 x fishing rods with Prince Albert Fishing Association and is located close to the C2C cycling route.

Our new handcrafted shepherds hut has en-suite facilities and underfloor heating. It has an enclosed patio with seats and a chiminea. We are situated in a very quiet part of Northumberland with excellent walking and cycling from site. The Pennine way is a field away, we have disused railway lines with viaduct and riverside walks. Nearby is the market town of Alston, Penrith and the north lakes, Barnard Castle in Teasdale. Stanhope in Weardale. Hadrian's wall, Hexham, Brampton and Carlisle

The Bothy at Ivy Cottage offered on a B&B basis, is a unique, cosy & beautiful, centuries-old stone Shepherd’s Hut, situated in the hamlet of Red Path, a short drive to the popular town of Halthwhistle. The Bothy is surrounded by dramatic countryside, woodlands and magnificent views as far as the eye can see. Though not far from the convenience of A69, the Bothy offers a tranquil and peaceful setting.
