Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

Its many original features offer a unique place to stay for two people, with outstanding views of Derwentwater. it utilises the roof space so please note that some areas of the apartment have restricted headroom. It has a double bedroom with spectacular views, the bathroom has bath with shower over and fantastic living space with kitchen, living area and bespoke breakfast bar.

The famous Coledale horseshoe ridge walk starts and finishes in the village. The popular mountain biking trail centre at Whinlatter Forrest is less than 2 miles from the cottage.

Our cottage is nestled in the picturesque village of Portinscale and is a short 5 minute walk into Keswick. Portinscale is perfectly situated for any outdoor activity. Derwentwater Marina is a short 2 minute walk away, the local fells are easily accessible from the front door and the cycling (both trail and road) are world class. There is a superb cafe situated 100 yards from the cottage and a local village pub. The cosy cottage is the perfect base for a fantastic holiday.
