Babilônia is a neighborhood of Copacabana which sits neatly on the hill behind the Leme end of the beach. You can access by taxi, or you can walk there. The area is safe, friendly and open for tourists to explore. Some of the coolest graffiti in Rio can be seen on the walls here. The small Copacabana community of Babilônia has approx 5000 residents and was "pacified" in 2009. It is now an up an coming neighborhood in itself. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach from the house. In the neighborhood there are schools, banks (Bradesco & Itau), shops, bars, hostels, small hotels, and a great community spirit. This accommodate is perfect for travelers who wish to experience Rio with a real Brazilian family.

Owned by a British resident (Scottish), the house is situated on a leafy hillside in a residential area of botafogo in Rio de Janeiro. In spite of its central location, Rua Mundo Novo seems like a green oasis within the urban context, offering to visitors frequent sightings of parrots and marmosets. There are three rooms available, each with twin, triple or double beds, fridge, large work/study table, ceiling fans, wi-fi (in all rooms and garden). All of the rooms open out on to a large 110 square meter garden with two large dining tables and a generous outdoor kitchen area with cooker, oven, microwave, fridge and bar table with 7 stools for guests. All guests are offered Bed & Breakfast, linen changes, cooking and laundry facilities. The largest room (24.5 square meters) is a suite with bathroom and closet. The other two other rooms (each 13.2 square meters) share a bathroom with shower (4 square meters) and mahogany Captain’s beds with 6 storage drawers. All three rooms are situated independently from the rest of the house, each with an independent entrance, and combination lock, offering complete privacy for the guests. The rooms look out onto a garden area of 110 square meters and a view of the surrounding hillsides. The garden besides having trees and granite outdoor dining tables each capable of seating 8 people comfortably, has an independent open air kitchen, The property, besides offering privacy and independence for individuals and couples in the double and twin rooms is ideal for families or small groups of up to 8 people.
