Before the snow falls, you can get a vigorous quick hike in by climbing Mount Ripley. Excellent views on top! Plus you can walk the old train tracks along the top of the ridge if you want more. Following the trail up the left side and coming down the opposite (right) side is recommended. It's STEEP, so wear good footwear!

We like to hike this hill in the off seasons. You can park at the top or bottom of the hill and follow the ski runs to hike it. I think we clocked it at about 1 mile but it’s definitely worth the view and the exercise.

in the fall, end of September beginning of October, they do a chairlift ride for the colors, it's beautiful. It’s also a great local ski hill.
