This retreat offers an experience in comfort & sustainability. You will be 5 to 15 km from some of NZ's great expansive white sandy beaches, stunning walks, cafes & outdoor pursuits. Your accommodation is half of the main house. It is completely closed off for your privacy with private access & outdoor deck. BBQ by request. Not suitable for children.

We are here if you require something, would like some local knowledge on things to do or a chat. Our place is located in the heart of the beautiful Taurikura Bay only a stone throw from the waters edge with views of the bay. We are surrounded by beautiful bush walking trails suitable for all levels of fitness & beautiful beaches to choose from.

Pukeko Refuge

This is a lovely large quiet and tranquil separate unit with a new bathroom. A small stream gurgles alongside enjoyed by pukekoes and eels. We want you to enjoy the birdlife, therefore we have food for you to feed the fantails, eels and pukekoes. A Gazebo over looking the stream to watch the pukeko playing, maybe enjoying a glass of wine. The unit has a microwave, fridge and toaster sofa, table and chairs for you to enjoy "home away from it all". Very safe off street parking

We are on the way to the picturesque North yet 10mins from the CBD. This Retreat sits atop a hill revealing lovely views and sunsets. Separate entry, lock box and own parking space make for a personal welcome. Facilities include microwave, sandwich press and toaster for quick meal prep when needed.

Located only 5km from the city centre, it is a 2 minute walk from a cafe and local stores and in a nice neighbourhood. Off street parking is available by the studio. Please note, this is a studio. There isn't a separate bedroom.

Your privacy is assured, however you may occasionally hear light movement from upstairs. Jolt Cafe is just around the corner, Whangarei museum and Kiwi House just up the road, plus the lovely green space of Barge Park for leisurely walks. Only 4.5kms to the CBD.
