Our solar powered cottage is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing getaway in Onrus. Mere minutes from Hermanus, the cottage is located within walking distance from the beach and various tidal pools in the area. Fitted with solar panels, battery and inverter, the cottage has back-up power and is ‘loadshedding proof’. The space is beautifully furnished & decorated, stylish enough to make it feel special, but informal enough to enjoy your time at the beach. We offer RELIABLE, FAST FIBER internet.

Cape Point Mountain Getaway - Cottage

This is one of Cape Town's environmental and historic treasures. It is a candle-lit hideaway with stunning views of mountain and sea. The Cottage is completely off grid, with fresh water coming off the mountain and energy from the sun. The cottage is built from local materials - stone walls, reed ceilings, blue gum supports. There are glass doors and windows throughout the cottage. The cottage has a beautiful open-plan bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom includes a tub, a toilet and a basin.

This special home-from-home is conveniently located in a quiet part of the village and just short stroll from all the shops and restaurants. The house features two spacious, en-suite bedrooms which open up onto the outside verandah. Situated on a small holding 5km outside Franschhoek, opposite the exquisite La Motte Wine Estate, Heidi’s Barn offers the perfect self-catering base from which to explore the Winelands. A fire pit, outdoor dining area and a large swimming pool (shared with one other cottage) are perfect for summertime relaxation while an indoor wood-burning fireplace and wooden floors throughout make for a cosy winter escape. The barn runs on mains power with solar back up for load shedding.

You’ll love the cottage because of the spacious, private, setting on a working wine and fruit farm nestled against the mountains of Franschhoek Valley. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). You are welcome to explore the farm and even practice your chipping and putting skills on the green.There is an inverter to provide electricity during loadshedding periods.
