Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

The X5 bus runs past the door to Cockermouth, Workington to the west and to Keswick via Braithwaite (the pub). Great reviews and superhost.

Themed around the minerals mined nearby in days gone by; we offer the Gold Room; a one bed apartment. Uniquely, the building offers The Village Shop & Tea Room, which sells breakfast, lunch, groceries and gifts.

The famous Coledale horseshoe ridge walk starts and finishes in the village. The popular mountain biking trail centre at Whinlatter Forrest is less than 2 miles from the cottage.

The hut has no electricity but has solar lights, and a separate composting toilet, all bed linen is provide along with wood for the stove.
